  WE BECOME
by: REAGON, TOSHI / LAVA
Toshi says: "I started working on the  music in June 2008 by asking the  performers questions about the work.  Over the next few months I came to  rehearsals and tried to become another  line in the ensemble voice. It was very important to me that I did not dictate  the movement. I want to be moved by  their physicality and their emotional  intention. This group is really bound-  less so the music had to follow. I used many textures and genres of music. You  will hear rock, folk, blues notes and  even a little country. There are songs  with text and songs without. This is  some of my favorite music..."

  HAVE YOU HEARD
by: TOSHI REAGON
On this disc, Toshi calls the listener  back to the heart of rock and roll with  a voice overflowing with raw emotion.  Her Righteous Babe debut (and her sixth  full length album overall), this studio  album captures the infectious energy of  her live shows. Supporting her earthy  tenor and amazing ability to bend the  guitar strings are members of her live  band, Big Lovely, and a few special  guests. From her rock platform, Toshi  easily jumps from funk to country,  spirituals to folk, taking any style,  updating it and making it her own with  ease. An uncompromising brew of artistic exuberance and exceptional talent!

  KINDNESS
by: TOSHI REAGON
This album is pure Toshi: from  ancient chants to urban blues, retro  funk and rap - a rocker's intimate  encounter with her roots. Relevant  and revoluntionary, Toshi is widely  known from the festival circuit and  has built a very strong following  in the NYC area. "...She's super  hip...and deserves every single one  of Ani Difranco's and Tracy Chapman's  fans - and then some." (The Village  Voice)

  JUSTICE
by: TOSHI REAGON
Toshi's first album, recorded on the  then Chicago based folk label Flying  Fish, which is now part of Rounder  Records. Highlights include Toshi's  version of Sting's "Walking in Your  Footsteps" and a song written by her  mother, Bernice Johnson Reagon, "How  Long."
