Sweet Honey in the Rock has joined The Sound Strike and is listed with other artists who joined in boycotting Arizona in protest against SB1070, a law which they feel is overly discriminatory and will (further) provoke and condone racial profiling in the state. Sweet Honey has long used her songs and the songs of her ancestors to stand against racism and injustice, in support of civil rights for all and in solidarity with oppressed people throughout the world. This song continues that history, asking what kind of a nation we are. A portion of the proceeds go to the Center for Community Change.
