Magdalen chose fire from the Chinese system of "The Law of the Five Elements" because it is associated with relationships, community, love, sexuality, friendship, trust, intimacy, diplomacy and public image. She has been spending the last three years developing this element and offers up a batch of emotionally-charged songs in this vein. Her poetic lyrics are accompanied by her masterful piano work as well as a full band. The music draws on elements from jazz, folk and pop, spiced with a punk edginess.
