"When I was writing the songs on this album, I felt I was experiencing a kind of quantum leap or personal gestalt. There were so many breakthroughs that happened to me personally, emotionally, musically, & spiritually. And I am a person that is all about breaking barriers. That's why I chose to call it "Smashing The Ceiling" (magdalen Hsu Li) This new CD showcases Magdalen's ethereal yet arousing voice on songs such as "Mary Magdalene" and "Change the World." Other noteworthy moments include the quintessential break-up song "Every- thing," the sublime "All Those Words," and the pop-driven "I Am."

She has grown as a musician, and continues to grow in terms of artistry, songwriting and production. The final track on the album, "Take Me There" is extremely evocative and moving...I've played it over and over again while I am driving around in my car. I hope she does a lot more like this. "
